Thanksgiving Thankfulness

Today is Thanksgiving.  If all goes well, today is probably our last Thanksgiving in the United States for a very long time.  With that in mind, we have so much to be thankful for and we’ve created a list to remind ourselves, to celebrate, and to express our gratitude for all the good gifts God has given us.  This is an incomplete list in no particular order.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17

Today, we are thankful for:

  • for every person who sees this post, who has been part of our journey, who is cheering us on
  • being able to celebrate Thanksgiving with family (in Georgia today and in Michigan on Sunday)
  • growing up in families that introduced us to Jesus at a young age
  • our relative health
  • access to convenient and competent medical care, insurance, along with a balance in our HSA that was higher than our annual deductible this year
  • that last week, when God challenged us to give a substantial sum to him, he gave it back to us through two different gifts a couple days later
  • eachother
  • that Mongolia has Coke and M&Ms
  • that LeYanna’s current favorite version of Moana’s songs are in Moari, not English and that she sings along at the top of her lungs in a language she doesn’t understand because it is the CUTEST THING
  • we have over 180 people committed to praying for us on a weekly basis
  • our team of financial partners grows weekly
  • the internet
  • a car (actually two!) that works
  • that God loves us more than he loves what we can do for him
  • for friends, so many good friends
  • LeYanna’s new (to her) stick horse and blue dog
  • that Jen let Cory get a cheap, ridiculous 2-seater sports car when our other car died
  • doing this partnership development thing has given us the opportunity to see people that we love and haven’t seen in a while.  It’s been so great seeing so many people who are important to us
  • we live by Lake Michigan which is beautiful and a constant reminder that we are small
  • for grandparents who lay on the floor and play with LeYanna (and paint with her and give her rides on the scooter and love her so much)

What are you thankful for?
